Ik weet wel mijn lief Micheline & Zjef Vanuytsel Radio 2 eregalerij

Ik had nooit gedacht, ik had nooit durven dromen, … (fragment uit ‘Ik weet wel mijn lief’)… dat zoveel mensen de ode aan Zjef in een virtueel duo gezongen voor Radio 2’s Eregalerij, zo mooi zouden vinden.

Er waait een wind door het Belgische en Nederlandse Facebook die al ruim 170.000 likes heeft vergaard, en al 2000 keer dit liefdeslied heeft gedeeld. Ook Radio 2's top 30 heeft een plekje voor dit perfect liefdesduo, en mid maart 2016 steeg het lied in Vlaamse Top 50 tot nummer 5!

Ik heb het geluk gehad 2 tours ‘Lief & Leed’ zij aan zij te mogen optreden met Zjef in de periode 2013-2015. Uitverkochte concerten langs de culturele centra en theaters. Samen met een full band muzikanten die ook vrienden zijn.

Zjef is een monument van het Vlaamse Luisterlied met een reeks hits op zijn naam zoals Zotte Morgen, Hop Marlene en Houten Kop. ‘Ik weet wel mijn Lief’ is 30 jaar geleden geschreven voor zijn vrouw Lucie. Ik kondigde Zjef op het podium graag aan als ‘De Bob Dylan van België’.

Toen Zjef & ik in 2013 voor het eerst samenkwamen om onze duo-show ‘Lief & Leed’ te bespreken, heb ik hem meteen gevraagd of ik zijn lied ‘Ik weet wel mijn lief’, mocht zingen. Hij zei meteen 'ja'.

Op 4 februari 2016 werd Zjef bijgezet in de Eregalerij van Radio 2. Daar mocht ik ‘Ik weet wel mijn lief’ zingen in een virtueel duet met Zjef Vanuytsel.

Het immense succes vroeg om een vervolg: een volwaardige single.  Dat is nu gebeurd en je kan via allerlei kanalen, oa.  iTunes  deze mooie song downloaden.

Ik zal op mijn komende 'Brel & Brass' en ook andere live concerten dit lied meenemen in mijn repertoire.

Ik mis je, Zjef! Ik blijf je eren!

I never thought, I never dreamed ... (excerpt from ‘I know my Sweet’)… that so many people singing the ode to Zjef in a virtual duet for Radio 2's Hall of Fame (Eregalerij), would find this so beautiful.

There’s a wind of appreciation blowing through the Belgian and Dutch Facebook pages who has already garnered more than 170,000 likes and 2,000 shares for this love duet. Is this the perfect Love song, that even finds a spot in the charts of Radio 2 and the Flemish charts Top 50 at nr 5!

I sang alongside Zjef for two tours of ’Lief & Leed (Joy & Sorrow)’ during the period of 2013-2015. Sold-out concerts along the Flemish theaters. Backed by a full band of musicians who are also friends.

Zjef is a monument in the Belgian chanson with a string of hits to his name as Zotte Morgen (Crazy tomorrow), Hop Marlene and Houten Kop (Wooden head). ‘I know my Sweet’ was written 30 years ago for his wife Lucie. I loved announcing Zjef on stage as ‘The Bob Dylan of Belgium'.

When Zjef & I met for the first time in 2013 to discuss our duo-show, I asked him immediately whether I could please sing ‘I know my Sweet’.

On February 4th 2016 Zjef was included in the Hall of Fame of the popular Belgian Radio 2. As a tribute, I was invited to sing ‘I know my Sweet’ in a virtual duet with Zjef Vanuytsel, whose photo was projected on the screen.
